Thanks for stopping by, and welcome to the new DN&D Estate Sales blog! We’re super excited to use this blog to share information about our upcoming sales, our own homes, and our philosophy about decorating and creating interiors. You will get an inside peek into the estate sales business, why we love estate sales, and why we think they’re a great past time. We love doing estate sales, and we love going to estate sales. We often say if we’re not prepping or having our own estate sale, we’re hanging out somewhere in the north Tennessee Valley checking out sales that we’ve seen advertised. You never know when you're going to find the most wonderful treasure!
Never Miss a Sale!
There are several things you can do to make sure that you never miss an estate sale, no matter where you are. All the companies that we know (including us) use EstateSales.net to advertise their sales. On this site, each company's sale is listed individually in order of the sale date. The address of the home is published the day before the sale and there are photos of many items that will be for sale as well as special instructions for parking, entry into the house, whether you need a mask, what time numbers will be given out, etc. Here’s how you sign up to get automated emails from www.estatesales.net about upcoming sales.
Go to www.estatesales.net.
Click the pink box that says “Get Free Sale Notifications.”
Next, you will get a page that looks like the one below
Enter your email address, the zip code of the city you’re interested in (35601) and the distance you’re willing to drive to a sale. You can select as many as 200 miles or as few as 5.
Once you’ve done that, you will be asked to confirm your email by clicking a link in an email they will send you.
That’s all there is to it. Easy peasy! And here's another great way to keep up with our sales. DN&D has a subscriber list. The people on that list get notices before the general public about anything going on with our sales--from upcoming sale's dates to special mark downs. Subscribing is easy and free. Just go to https://www.dndestatesales.com/upcoming-sales, enter your name and email address and submit.
A Little About Us
Debbie, Nell and I all live in the same neighborhood in Decatur, AL. We feel lucky to be in a fabulous historic district and living just a few blocks from each other. We love our homes and, even though we have different styles and tastes, we all strongly believe that our interiors should reflect who we are, what we like and what we are interested in…and that they should never ever be static! We want our interior spaces changing and evolving as (hopefully) we change and evolve. Heck, Debbie has moved 40 bajillion times in her life and every time she does, she sells (almost) everything and starts all over again! Estate sales are a great way to keep your décor fresh and your costs down – and who doesn’t like saving money?

I'll be blogging every Thursday so please check back. We'll keep you informed about our DN&D sales and other sales we attend. Nell and I dropped in today at 2309 Fairway Circle. This sale is being done by Lotus Estate Sales, Huntsville. We have friends who have been looking for bookshelves, and they hit the jackpot at this sale. These bookcases are $75 each. The pic is Nell standing near one so I could get an idea of how tall they are. We guesstimated 7 feet by 30". Lotus has some really pretty things in a really big house. The sale runs through Saturday. See you in blogland next week I hope!
